The past four years I’ve been on the hunt for an effective, pleasant smelling and aluminum free deodorant. Aluminum, along with other toxins used in antiperspirants, are known endocrine disruptors and have also been linked to cancer. I don’t think I need to elaborate on why I’ve chosen to eliminate such antiperspirants.

What I will elaborate on is how difficult it’s been to find a good one. I think all of us gals can acknowledge and appreciate the struggle to smell fresh and clean at all times. OH MY GOODNESS, the struggle. And, let’s be real, aluminum and other toxins in antiperspirants can be effective to keep away those unwanted sweat and smell issues. But I’ve determined that it’s ultimately not worth my overall health. So began my years long and continued journey to find the very best natural deodorant.

I’ve tried many of the popular brands including, but not limited to, Native, Kopari, Lume and even just a crystal stone. However, the best one I’ve come across so far is Salt & Stone. All of their scents are clean and not too fruity. I tend to prefer the more masculine spicy scents. Full disclosure, the deodorant I used up to and until my decision to go aluminum free was Swagger by Old Spice. So, if you’re anything like me, check out Salt & Stone.
